Token

The DAT token

DAT is the utility token of Datum Chain, on Avalanche. It does one job: it gates access to the work. Holding DAT opens the ERP on this site — 1 DAT held per active module — and the token stays in your wallet the whole time. Holding is the gate; the token is never spent, burned or taken as payment by the ERP.

How the gate works

Connect a wallet holding DAT and the portal opens. Each module you activate adds 1 DAT to the amount you need to hold. If the wallet disconnects or the balance falls below the required hold, module access pauses until the hold is restored — then it resumes on its own. Project participation works the same way: each project on the slate asks you to hold 1% of its value in DAT to take part.

The vault economy

Uploading a file to your vault earns 1 DAT credit; every upload is hashed on arrival. Viewing or downloading a file costs 0.1 DAT per MB, charged from your credits — including your own files. Files are visible only to the wallet that uploaded them.

Getting DAT

DAT trades on XMarkets, the ecosystem exchange, and can be earned through Omnichain mining. DAT is a utility token for access to this platform’s services — it is not an investment, and nothing on this site promises a return.
